WYE OAK NO PLACE

Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack have been making music together as Wye Oak for a long time now. With a couple of critically-acclaimed albums under their collective belt, the Baltimore-born twosome announced their new EP No Horizon with its far-reaching lead track 'AEIOU' just two weeks ago. Wasting no time following it up, second single 'No Place' has a distinctly dystopian flavour. Teaming up again with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, disorientating call and response vocals channel nuances of Kate Bush's phenomenal 'Waking The Witch', set over precise beats and shiny 80s synth sounds. Speaking of the track Wasner explained: "This song is about the separation between our consciousness and our physical bodies, and how it feels to forget that you even have a body in the first place. Of course, it gets easier and easier to use your body less and less; as we innovate more efficient ways of achieving our temporal goals, we are making them somewhat obsolete." No Horizon will be released via Merge Records on the 31st of July, listen to 'No Place' here now. -Holly Mullineaux
